Summary # 1

You will be writing Summary # 1 in class on Thursday. You may choose to summarize one of two Prose Reader assignments: "Dwellings" or "Summer Rituals." Go to my website and click on "More Class Handouts." At the bottom of that page, you will find two handouts--"Ug Words" and "How to Summarize and Checklist." Please print both of them and bring them to class with you.

Don't forget to bring what you need for the diagnostic essay tomorrow. Also, Prose Reader texts arrived at the bookstore early this morning, so the homework is still due tomorrow.

Hello,

Welcome to your fall 2009 English 100 class, which meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am your professor and am looking forward to meeting all of you on Tuesday. I have created this blogspot as a place where you can communicate with other students in the class about the class. For example, if you are absent, you can inquire about additional homework assignments and what the students did in class that day. You can also post a introduction blog in which you tell us about yourself--your major, whether or not you are a freshmen, if this is your first quarter at CSUB, and your athletic or campus club activities. Other than the introduction blog, use this site only to communicate about class assignments and activities. You can also post information about campus club activities and campus athletic events.
